Ken Yale

I am a school coach from the Bay Area Coalition for Equitable Schools (BayCES). BayCES is a non-profit organization that is partnering with Berkeley and other urban school districts to transform educational outcomes and opportunities for historically underserved students and families. This is my fourth year working at Berkeley High, supporting staff, parent, and student leaders at CP Academy and the other three small schools to create and sustain equitable and high performing schools. I also am a Berkeley resident and a former BHS parent, so I feel deeply connected to the BHS community beyond my formal job responsibilities.

I have been a teacher and administrator for over 20 years at all levels from kindergarten through university, including 11 years as a high school principal. I also have experience in community based learning programs like those at CP Academy, including working for several years as the Assistant Director of the Service-Learning Research & Development Center at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Education.

I am impressed and excited by the CP Academy vision and program, as well as by the dedication of its leadership. Please feel free to contact me at ken@bayces.org if you think I can be helpful with your questions or concerns.
