Jared Prolo is new to CPA and will be teaching IMP2 and IMP4. Before being at BHS, he taught math at Branham High School in San Jose, and San Lorenzo Valley High School in Felton, California. He received his bachelors degree in Music Education with a double in Math from Loyola University in New Orleans. He was enrolled in a math PhD program when he decided he'd rather teach high school math. His philosophy of teaching (verbatim):
“I think students are bored for the most part. Therefore I strive to
establish a classroom where students are challenged appropriately, work on
meaningful problems, and are responsible and proud of their work.
Mathematics is a unique subject in the high school; it is the the only
chance for students to work on a pure and abstract science. This is part
of what makes math challenging for many, but also what make it interesting
and exciting for me to teach. I hope I can impart some of my enthusiasm
for math to my students.”
